Anthracite Railroads Historical Society, Inc. is hosting its semi-annual book and railroad merchandise sale at our Lehigh Gap property on Saturday, May 18, 2024.

Our sizable inventory of top-quality books, magazines and “railroad items” has been refreshed via the gracious donations of our members; so be sure to come out and shop what is “new”. Titles cover U.S. and Canadian - railroading; industries; and some international titles. Numerous Morning Sun Titles. We have a collection of “classic” books, which are being offered for significantly less than current market prices e.g., Archer’s “Lehigh Valley Railroad”.

All ARHS’s in-stock books, HO-scale models, in-print copies of our flagship Flags, Diamonds, & Statues, and our extensive inventory of CDs featuring presentations from past ARHS conventions will be available. Our new reprint of the Reading Company’s “The Port Richmond Grain Elevator” for the ARHS Archives will be available.‍

Purchasing at the Gap sale will save you the normal shipping charges. Cash, check, or credit cards are accepted. Open to the public; bring a friend/neighbor/fellow railfan.

We are located at the intersection of PA-873 and PA-248 at Lehigh Gap. The driveway is located on the south side of PA-873 at the exit of the Lehigh River bridge. Items that We Have Available

This is a partial listing of the books, magazines, and HO-scale models we have for sale. Our inventory is full, so please come out and take advantage of these opportunities.

• ‍Hundreds of donated books in excellent condition. We have many Anthracite Road titles, as well as numerous roads from throughout the US and Canada, including the Morning Sun “In Color” and “Trackside Around” series. Most of these hardcovers are priced at $25 @ (or $20 @ for quantities five and above).

• ARHS created Reading and Lehigh Valley “bundles” of our Flags, Diamonds & Statues publications.  Each bundle consists of ten issues of FD&S, specific to the noted railroads, priced at $20 @, with no shipping charges. This is an event-only special!

• Back issues of historical society magazines available at $3 @.  Including: PRRT&HS “Keystone”, RCT&HS “Beeline”, Gulf, Mobile and Ohio “News”, Tri-State “Block Line” and B&M “Bulletin”, East Broad Top “Timber Transfer” [complete set 1983 to current].

• ‍Trains, Railpace, and Classis Trains abound. Any magazine is 15 cents, or 10 @ $1. We will give you a special rate on an entire box [say 100], so please ask.

• ARHS’s exclusive HO-scale, Rapido Trains, Lehigh Valley “Make Safety a Habit” Northeastern style caboose, all three numbers available for $100 @.  At the sale, there is no shipping to save you 10-20% on the cost of acquisition.

• Tangent Models, HO-scale. Lehigh Valley modern Covered Hopper available in all 12 road numbers for $57 @, with no shipping charges.
