Members are encouraged to contact Olev Taremae or an ARHS Board Member to present their programs or contacts of people who can present programs related to Anthracite Railroads, e.g., slides, films, videos, DVD’s, or digital programs, or visits to model railroads, as programs are continually needed.
NOTICE OF PROGRAM CHANGE. Tom Nemeth will be presenting a double feature of two shorter programs. The first will cover the Lehigh Valley Railroad from Oak Island to Bound Brook, home territory for Tom when he was growing up. The second will depict Conrail’s operations on the Bangor & Portland lines, formerly Lackawanna and later Erie – Lackawanna lines.
Douglas Kramer will be sharing his slide taken in the 1970s featuring Horseshoe curve including a derailment and its cleanup.
Harry Owens, raised in on-line town Truckville, has spent decades researching the Lehigh Valley Railroad’s Bowman’s Creek Branch. His illuminating program about obscure branch which once connected Wilkes-Barre and the Waverly/Sayre area is fascinating. Come and learn about this little known line and operation.
Frank Tatnall returns with what promises to be an outstanding program covering the Lehigh Valley Railroad from the 1950’s to the 1970’s.
You will think of Friday the 13th as your lucky day when you see a presentation of the late Dick Samsel’s slides. Rich Jahn will narrate. Members enjoyed a show of Dick’s photography last year. This program covers slides not seen last year.
