Members are encouraged to contact Olev Taremae or an ARHS Board Member to present their programs or contacts of people who can present programs related to Anthracite Railroads, e.g., slides, films, videos, DVD’s, or digital programs, or visits to model railroads, as programs are continually needed.
Steve Stewart has assembled and will present a program covering the Lehigh Valley Railroad in New York State.
Kermit Geary will present a program dealing with New Jersey Zinc’s Palmerton plant and its related railroad operations.
Bob Wise will take us on a trip down the Lurgan Line. Bob says that we will follow the Reading Railroad west from Rutherford and then the Western Maryland to Hagerstown and beyond.
Dave Augsburger has assembled a grouping of Reading Railroad slides concentrating on the line from Reading to the Philadelphia area.
Reading railroad fans take note, Rich Jahn will share his program, The Four Corners of the Reading.
When asked for a title, John Gabriel provided the following.
“North of the Border” … a travelog (sic) of images from the ARHS’ collection from John Endler covering Eastern Canada in the 19502 snd 1960s. Presented by John M. Gabriel.
Paul Kutta returns by popular demand. His program is entitled Fallen Flags. We hope he will show some images of trains in addition to the flags.
Richard Samsel is will be sharing a program featuring Conrail era trains running on former Reading Railroad tracks.
We welcome Frank Tatnall back. Frank will present a program dealing with the electrification of the Pennsylvania Railraod concentrating on the Main Line west from Philadelphia to Paoli.
Doug Peters will present his program on the history of the Allentown & Reading Traction Company. This program is not just for trolley enthusiasts. Historic views of Kutztown and other lineside towns are fascinating.
